Star-Studded Celebrity Rescue Pet Roundup

We all know that rescued fur babies rock and these animal loving celebs do too!  Rather than spending their bucks to buy an animal, these celebrities opened their hearts and homes to an animals – or two – in need.  We know there are many more out there so send us your favorite celebrity/rescue duo – or trio – and we’ll do a second celebrity round-up.

John Legend and Penny

Penny is a three-legged French Bulldog rescued from an abusive home.

David Arquette and Dallas


Dallas was adopted from the Last Day Dog Rescue, and Arquette even sends updates back to the foster parents!

Charlize Theron and Tucker


After Tucker was rescued, he and Theron went on to star in several PETA billboards that read “If you wouldn’t wear your dog, please don’t wear any fur.”

Jon Hamm and Cora


Cora has been with Hamm for over 12 years now, and when asked about the experience, Hamm said, “I wish more people would take advantage of pet rescue. It’s easy to do and inexpensive. Cora provides me with pure joy and love – and those are two pretty nice things to have in your life.”

Kristen Bell with Lola and Mr. Shakes


Both of Bell’s Corgi mutts are rescues, and one of them she helped rehabilitate from his abusive home.

Jake Gyllenhaal with Boo Radley and Atticus


Named after the To Kill A Mockingbird characters, Atticus and Boo were rescued from a shelter in LA.

Zooey Deschanel with Dot and Zelda


Zelda and Dot were rescued from the non-profit Bill Foundation in Los Angeles.

 Anne Hathaway and Kenobi


Kenobi was adopted from The Amanda Foundation in Beverly Hills.
